Wester Hailes Education Centre

Wester Hailes Education Centre is a community school with a roll of 408 school students in S1-S6 and over 600 adult learners. The school works closely with parents to equip our young people with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to live a happy and healthy life. The Communities that Care survey results suggest that Wester Hailes is, indeed, making significant progress in this area.

The Centre has already achieved Stage 1 Accreditation as a Health Promoting School through the development of a whole school approach to promoting the physical, social, mental and emotional well being of all students, staff and the wider school community.

Introducing initiatives covering areas such as mental health, physical exercise, health and well being, breakfast clubs and even smoking cessation groups which support young people who want to stop smoking have all helped pupils and parents alike. Wester Hailes is a worthy winner of our Healthy Living award.
