Laura Cooper from Larbert High School with her Probationary Teacher of the Year Award

Laura Cooper – Larbert High School

Laura enhances the range of skills and experience at Larbert High School, with her vitality and dedication to the Home Economics department. She is always keen to learn more about her subject and develop her professional competency.

Laura has great empathy with pupils and this is visible in all her classes, where it is obvious that her pupils have a great deal of respect for her. She gets involved in everything from Chef of the Week competitions to summer induction programmes for new S1 pupils or even introducing an after school cookery club. She helps ensure the school Christmas dance goes from strength to strength and even finds time to help develop the faculty website.

Laura throws herself into everything that she does with the greatest enthusiasm. She is a team player, who is considerate to those she works with in the department and to all members of staff. She has developed a fantastic relationship with all her pupils who clearly enjoy her teaching. Laura Cooper is our Probationary Teacher of the Year.
