Joe has had a massive impact on Liberton High School pupils. His approach to teaching Religious Education and Psychology has inspired students to take a greater interest in the subjects. Pupils have met the Dalai Lama and visited significant religious sites. Joe is also involved in school nominated charities, including the children’s Hospice Association Scotland for which he helped raise £2,000. He has also organised a variety show and a 24-hour sponsored fast at the school, which has become an annual event. He set up a Student Council and launched the Global Citizenship Group to promote fair trade at the school.
