Active Nation Award

This category recognises schools and pre schools that have developed opportunities for all children and young people to be active on a regular basis with a wide participation in sports and other physical pursuits.

Aiming High Award

This award recognises schools and pre-schools who are providing opportunities for all children to have full and vibrant access to Education, removing barriers where they exist.  This recognises best practice in supporting children who require universal, targeted or more sustained support to overcome barriers to embracing learning for any reason.

Educational Supporter of the Year

This award recognises those within the school or pre-school setting that support children, young people, staff and the life of the school and wider community.

Enterprise and Employability Across Learning Award (Primary and Early Years)

This category recognises the schools and pre-schools that are helping children and young people develop the necessary skills for learning, skills for life and skills for work, essential to learning and education under Curriculum for Excellence.

Enterprise and Employability Across Learning Award (Secondary)

This category recognises the schools that are helping children and young people develop the necessary skills for learning, skills for life and skills work, essential to learning and education under Curriculum for Excellence.

Global Citizenship Award

This category recognises how children and young people are being encouraged to be responsible citizens in a local, national and international context.

Gaelic Language and Culture in Learning Award

This award recognises schools and pre-schools who are providing opportunities for all children to develop awareness of Gaelic language and culture.

Headteacher of the Year

This award recognises headteachers that provide inspirational leadership, that motivate and involve staff, children and young people across the school, bringing learning to life, and inspiring all to fulfil their potential.

Health and Wellbeing Award

This category recognises schools and pre schools that are developing a holistic approach to health and wellbeing of children and young people, involving knowledge and understanding, skills and attributes necessary for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing.

Learning Through Technology Award

This category recognises schools and pre schools who are innovating in their use of technology and maximising the potential of information, communications and other technologies, including Glow, to support effective learning and teaching.

Lifetime Achievement

This award is open to all qualified teachers and headteachers approaching the end of their careers, and aims to recognise their work in providing leadership and commitment for colleagues, school and wider community throughout their education career.

Literacy Across Learning Award

This category recognises schools and pre schools that have developed effective approaches to embedding the development of literacy skills across all areas of learning.

Numeracy Across Learning Award

This category recognises schools and pre schools that have developed effective approaches to embedding the development of numeracy skills across all areas of learning.

Parents as Partners in Learning Award

This category recognises the important  role that parents play in the education sector, in schools and nurseries, in their local area, nationally  or in individual children’s learning. 

Probationary Teacher of the Year

This award recognises probationary teachers who are bringing learning to life by engaging and inspiring children and young people to fulfil their potential.

Sustainable Schools Award

This category recognises schools and pre schools that have developed environmental awareness and sustainable development education across all the curriculum areas and the life of the school.

Teacher of the Year

This award recognises teachers who are bringing learning to life by engaging and inspiring children and young people to fulfil their potential.
