Sustainable Schools Award

This category recognises schools and pre-schools that have developed environmental awareness and sustainable development education across all the curriculum areas and the life of the school.

If you can respond positively and in some detail to the following questions, we would welcome your nomination.

• How have children and young people and all members of the school community been involved in developing a whole-school approach to sustainable development and environmental awareness in schools? 

• How has the school used the experiences and outcomes and interdisciplinary learning to develop sustainable development education and action for sustainability in the school and the wider community? 

• How have you worked with partners (eg parents, community services, volunteers from the community and other relevant organisations) to support sustainable development education and awareness? 

• What are the outcomes of these approaches in terms of impact on children and young people, the whole-school community and the wider community?
