Nomination guidance

Before making a nomination it is important that you have read and understood the relevant category criteria the nomination will be assessed against.  You should also look at the conditions of entry.

In submitting a nomination you should provide as much relevant information as possible to assist the judges in making an informed judgement on the merits of the nominations received.  This should include:

  • Background on the nominee - name (school/individual), position held (if appropriate), and contact details.
  • A detailed description of what the school/individuals have done to merit the Award.  This should include relevant examples of impact/outcomes etc
  • Contact details for the person making the nomination.

You may wish to consider drafting the nomination offline in a word document before copying and pasting it into the nomination form when you are ready.

For school pupils wishing to nominate a member of school staff (i.e. teacher, head teacher or education supporter) you may wish to consider drafting the nomination with fellow pupils, and possibly involve another member of staff at the school.

Nominations should be no more than 1000 words.

If you have any queries about the nomination process you may find it helpful to have a look at the Frequently Asked Questions section on the website.  Alternatively, please do not hesitate to contact the events team on 0141 309 1480 (during office hours) or by email via the Contact us section on the website.
