Many education authorities have their own awards. If you've applied to your local authority then you'll be able to use this information to apply for a Scottish Award. What an excellent way to gain Scotland wide recognition for your pupils, your school and for your local authority.
If you would like to apply for one or more of the categories it's important that you look at the detailed information about each of them. This will let you know if there are any special requirements for the category that might involve you providing specific information or evidence particularly in categories that recognises the support of others outside of the school.
Check the deadline dates and plan to get your application form to us on time.
Read all the instructions carefully.
Make sure you understand all the questions.
Each category will clearly set out the required criteria. Use this to set out your application form and ensure you provide all the evidence asked for. Judges can use only the information you present and in many cases will have no personal knowledge of your school or the activity/person you are describing.
Complete all the relevant sections – nominee, nominator, contact details and your reasons for nominating the person or school.
To be short-listed you must demonstrate how your entry satisfies the 'essential' criteria. Read the category details thoroughly and make sure that you are clear about the evidence you need to provide.
Follow the online format. If you complete each section in turn you will be able to ensure that you don't miss any of the essential criteria.
If you're still unsure contact the Scottish Education Awards team and someone will be able to answer your questions.
