The Scottish Education Awards are open to all Scottish publicly funded schools and pre-school establishments. Nurseries in partnership with their local authority are eligible to enter.
Anyone can make a nomination and there is no limit to the number of nominations that can be made. A nominated teacher for an individual award must have qualified teacher status. All full-time, part-time and peripatetic teachers are eligible for nomination.
Nominees for the Probationary Teacher of the Year must be in their probationary period, as defined by the General Teaching Council in the session 2009/2010.
Nominees for the Lifetime Achievement Award should be qualified teachers and headteachers approaching the end of their career.
If during the course of the nomination period the nominee changes school, any prizes will be given to the school at which the nominee originally worked when the nomination was made. The management team will be permitted to exclude any nominee at any time, at its sole discretion. The management team accepts no responsibility for any nominations lost due to problems with the internet.
Entry to the Scottish Education Awards is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions.
