Drumchapel High School
Since being designated in 2000 as one of five Glasgow schools to receive asylum seeker pupils, the number of asylum seekers at the school has risen from 4 to 96. There have been few racist incidents at the school thanks to the efforts of both staff and pupils. Integration of pupils began with a "buddies" club, which gave pupils the chance to make friends, share interests and discuss problems. The work of the school attracted interest from the BBC, which made a short film involving pupils. Their work supporting inclusion continued throughout a holocaust exhibition displayed at the St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art, and Glasgow's Mitchell Library.
