Eastwood High School
When the staff noticed a developing trend of indiscipline within the school, they quickly developed an action plan to tackle it. The plan included: changes in the systm for dealing with bad behaviour; undertaking work with pupils and outside agencies; a new database to monitor low-level bad behaviour and teachers being able to spend more time on behaviour support. Senior pupils were trained to play a positive role in tackling the problems and were instrumental in identifying areas that needed improvement. As a result, records of incidents dropped by three-quarters during the session. Better behaviour suports better learning.
