Scottish Education Awards

Health and Wellbeing Award

This category recognises schools and pre-schools that are developing a holistic approach to health and wellbeing of children and young people, involving knowledge and understanding, skills and attributes necessary for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing.

If you can respond positively, and in some detail, to the following questions, we would welcome your nomination.

  • In what ways are staff taking responsibility for promoting health and wellbeing in your school or early years establishment?

  • How has your establishment pulled all of the aspects of the health and wellbeing curriculum area together?

  • In what ways have you involved children and young people in planning their activities to promote health and wellbeing?

  • What opportunities do children and young people have to support their peers in developing their health and wellbeing?

  • What partnerships have you developed to support the school in developing health and wellbeing? For example, parents, home link staff, health professionals, local authority services and other partners such as local sports clubs.

  • What are the outcomes of these approaches in terms of impact on children and young people, the whole-school community and the wider community?

Nominations for the 2010 Scottish Education Awards are now closed.
