This category recognises schools and pre-schools that have developed opportunities for all children and young people to be active on a regular basis with a wide participation in sports and other physical pursuits.
If you can respond positively and in some detail to the following questions, we would welcome your nomination.
What evidence can you provide of good-quality physical education provision and other opportunities for all children and young people to be involved in physical activity and sport across the school and beyond (including outdoor learning)?
How have you developed learning to build physical competences, improve aspects of fitness and develop personal and interpersonal skills and attributes in learners?
What evidence can you provide which indicates that children and young people are establishing a sustained pattern of regular involvement in physical activity and sport?
How have learners been involved in developing the programmes and evaluating them?
What partnerships with parents and the wider community (eg clubs, wider local authority providers, and national sports bodies) have you developed to support young people’s activities?
What are the outcomes of these approaches in terms of impact on children and young people, the whole-school community and the wider community?
Nominations for the 2010 Scottish Education Awards are now closed.
